Hotels in Suffolk with sea views, stylish accommodation and attentive service are few and far between, but The Wentworth Hotel in Aldeburgh is one of them.

Whether you choose sea, garden or inland views, all of our bedrooms offer comfortable, stylish accommodation with that all important attention to detail.

In addition to the 28 bedrooms within the main hotel building, we also have 7 rooms in Darfield House. Featuring contemporary furnishings and luxury bathrooms, Darfield House is set back from the hotel with its own secluded garden and outdoor seating.

Attention to detail...

The hotel has a number of bedrooms with uninterrupted views of Aldeburgh beach and the sea. Four of our superior rooms also have lounge areas and we have five accessible rooms in total on the ground floor (the hotel does not have a lift).

All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, TV, radio, WiFi, direct dial telephones, hair dryers and tea and coffee making facilities.

Larger Sea View Rooms

These stylish, spacious bedrooms offer wonderful views across Aldeburgh beach and the characterful fishing huts and boats. They also feature a comfortable seating area and refurbished bathrooms. They can be either king sized or twin bedded rooms.

Standard Sea View Rooms

Slightly smaller than our larger sea view rooms, these welcoming, stylish bedrooms overlook Aldeburgh’s long shingle beach. Some have options for king sized bed or twin beds.

Renewing your Toiletries

In order to reduce single use plastics we will NOT replace a partially used item of toiletry unless the item is placed in the basin, indicating that you wish for a replacement.

Out of Housekeeping hours refills can be obtained from Reception.

Fresh Towels

If you require fresh towels please leave the ones to be replaced in the bath tub or shower tray.

Larger Inland Rooms

Our larger inland rooms offer spacious accommodation, comfortable seating areas and modern bathrooms. Most rooms have separate baths and showers and can be either king size or twin beds. Situated in Darfield House opposite the main hotel, these rooms have direct access to the tranquil, walled garden.

Standard Inland Rooms

Slightly smaller than our larger rooms, but equally tastefully designed, these bedrooms offer inland views and refurbished bathrooms. Four of the rooms have walk in showers. Others have a shower over the bath.

Single Rooms

All rooms are imaginatively decorated and recently refurbished, with one of the rooms overlooking the sea. Three of our single bedrooms have walk-in showers.

"Brilliantly run traditional family hotel Stayed for three nights B&B plus evening meal for a relatives 90th birthday celebration over a long weekend. Stayed in a recently refurbished room and the food was excellent and all the staff were happy & courteous. The owner and manager, who has run the hotel for nearly 50 years was much in evidence. This is a beautifully run family hotel."

"Birthday Trip to Remember: We have just returned from a birthday stay for my wife and can only praise the Hotel for a wonderful time. We had a marvellous large sea facing room and on the afternoon of our arrival we had toasted teacakes with tea in the lovely lounge with sea views. As for the meals, what can I say. Dinner on each evening was an excellent 3 course meal, and the breakfast really set you up for the day. The staff were so friendly and very helpful and I would certainly recommend this Hotel, to the extent that we have booked again!!"

"Fantastic stay at The Wentworth. Great location for exploring Aldeburgh and Southwold. Lovely room (bedroom and separate sitting room) overlooking the sea. Quiet with very comfortable bed. Bathroom well appointed and very clean. It’s 25 years since my last stay at the hotel and it’s as good now as it was then. Beautiful decor, lovely service, great staff. Open fires and beautiful public rooms are a delight. We had dinner bed and breakfast and the food was first class. I used to think of the bar at The Wentworth as one of my favourite places to be - it still is. Thanks to everyone who makes the experience so special."

"Wonderful few days staying at The Wentworth hotel. Friendly staff, wonderful food, and he room had a huge comfortable bed, a large tv and a great shower (and bath). The hotel is situated right next to the beach and it takes a five minutes to walk into Aldburgh. It was dog friendly and we will definitely be booking in again"

"Just returned from a 2 day break at this lovely hotel stayed in a small double overlooking the sea great room spotless everything you need for a few nights away. Great comfy bed, the food excellent great service in the restaurant nothing to much trouble. This is a great hotel in a great position with lovely staff and run well we will certainly be going back."
